Welcome to Savoring Each Season.
We’re Amelia and Liz, two moms navigating the many seasons of life (and leaning on each other along the way).
Motherhood is a rollercoaster—full of peaks and valleys, joy and exhaustion, deep love, and the need to love and prioritize ourselves too. It’s a season of life that’s constantly shifting. Just when you think you’ve figured it out (ha!), a curveball is thrown your way.
That’s why we created Savoring Each Season.
We’re navigating these changes together, sharing our real moments of motherhood—the small victories, the challenges, and all of the special ordinary moments in-between. We’re exploring what it means to care for ourselves while caring for our kids. We’re taking the time to nurture all the parts of us that make us who we are.
This is a space for warmth, connection, and encouragement. If you’re looking for thoughtful, relatable stories about navigating motherhood while also holding onto yourself, we’d love for you to join us!

All about Amelia + Liz
Kids: Camilla (age 8.5) Maxwell (newly 6!)
Location: Originally from Savannah, Georgia, I met my husband Mike while I was in college in Boston to study Art. I fell in love with New England and we have decided to raise our kids in the city.
Ideal Saturday Morning
With kids: I value a slow Saturday morning. After early weekday wake ups and busy afternoons, our family enjoys easing into the weekend. My favorite Saturday mornings are when the kids dive into imaginary play, and I just get to soak it all in.
Without kids: This past fall, Liz and I took a much needed day trip to Portland, Maine (we’re both big fans of the state!). We attended an event for Olivia Muenter’s debut novel, Such a Bad Influence. The day was pure bliss—no agenda, just wandering around Portland, popping in and out of shops. We had a delicious meal at Mr. Tuna (while deep in conversation about family life, always) and then made our way to Back Cove Books for the event. With the sun shining and hours spent catching up, it felt like the perfect escape.
What Season of Motherhood Are You In: This September brought a new, exciting season—both kids are finally at the same school (yay!). After the kids hop on the bus and wave goodbye, my husband and I grab a drink from our neighborhood spot and take a quiet walk before the day begins. For those with little ones, there is light at the end of the tunnel!
How Are You Caring for Yourself This Season: My latest obsession is starting the day with a scenic hike on the Peloton Tread while tuning into a podcast (A Thing or Two is a favorite!). In 30 minutes I feel invigorated and ready to tackle the day.
Peak & Pit of This Season
Peak: The highlight of this season has been stretching our kids when it comes to travel. Our recent family trip to Arizona was the adventure we all needed. It was such a joy to watch them take in new sights (they had never seen a cactus IRL!) and push themselves out of their comfort zone.
Pit: One of my biggest motherhood challenges is making time for myself and my marriage. The kids are so fun and engaging that stepping away feels hard—even though I know it’s essential for all of us (especially me!) to thrive. I’m still learning to navigate this balance.
Kids: 3 boys! Ages 7.5 years, 6 years, and 3.5 years
Location: After living all over Massachusetts in our twenties, and then on the West Coast for almost five years (and for the births of all three of our children), my husband and I settled on the North Shore of Boston three years ago, in a classic New England town, in a place that finally feels like home.
Ideal Saturday Morning
With kids: We are in the season of life where our boys have a couple activities on the weekend and currently, this season, that means soccer. Do I love getting us all up and out the door on a Saturday instead of lounging on the couch? Heck no. Do I get downright giddy seeing my oldest have a blast on the field week after week? Oh my goodness yes.
Without kids: A kids-free Saturday morning is a rare occasion these days, but if I had to pick, I’d second what Amelia said about our Saturday outing to Portland, Maine this past fall.
Runner up would be if my husband takes all three boys to the soccer field (or any activity/outing/errand) and I get to sit in my home in silence and just sip and savor my coffee.
What Season of Motherhood Are You In: This fall was a major shift for our family - for the first time since my motherhood journey began, I did not have a little one home with me day in and day out. With my oldest in elementary school, my middle son starting kindergarten, and my youngest starting full day preschool three times a week for the first time, my schedule changed. I now have three full days without any children to care for. And so I’ve begun the process of diving back into work and figuring it all out.
How Are You Caring for Yourself This Season: While it’s not a brand new hobby or habit, my reading continues to be an essential part of my sanity-saving self-care. I get immense joy from a good book and look forward to opening the pages every evening after bedtime. Even better when the book is so captivating that I think about it on and off all day, sneaking in pages every time I bring a load of laundry upstairs.
Peak & Pit of This Season
Peak: I feel like as a family, we’re embarking on a really new fun season. I love newborns, I love babies so much. But guess what I’m finding out? Seven year olds are also really cool. I’m pleasantly surprised by how fun our days can be with post-toddler kiddos! And traveling without diapers, strollers, cribs… wow. Game changing.
Pit: Honestly, the sibling bickering is just really rough right now. Send help. Open to all and any ideas.
